A Message from the Founder: Why DocuProjects Uses a Pay-As-You-Go Pricing Model

One of the questions I’ve already started receiving after the soft launch of DocuProjects is: “Why is your pricing model different from most CRM and SaaS platforms?” I thought it would be better to answer that openly. After spending more than 14 years in the UAE SaaS industry, working closely with businesses across different sectors, I noticed something very common among SMEs: Many businesses were paying monthly software subscriptions regardless of how much they actually used the system. In some companies, licenses remained inactive for months.
Some teams used only a small percentage of the platform.

Others logged in occasionally, yet continued paying fixed subscription fees every month. As someone who worked closely with customers for years, I always felt there had to be a more practical and flexible approach for growing businesses. That thought eventually became one of the core ideas behind DocuProjects. Instead of forcing businesses into large recurring subscriptions from the beginning, we wanted to create a model where companies could start using the platform with minimal pressure and pay mainly when real business activity happens.

That is why DocuProjects follows a usage-based pricing approach. Businesses can manage:
• Leads
• Deals
• Quotations
• Follow-ups
• Reminders
• Dashboards
• Reports without immediately committing to expensive monthly software costs.

The idea was simple: Businesses should pay when they generate revenue and actively use workflows that support their business growth — not simply because another month has started. For many SMEs, consultants, startups, and growing companies, this creates a much lower barrier to adopting digital systems. And honestly, modern businesses are changing.

Today, companies want:
• Flexibility
• Simplicity
• Transparency
• Scalable costs
• Lower upfront commitments Especially SMEs that are still growing and managing cash flow carefully. DocuProjects was built with that reality in mind. Not every business needs a heavy enterprise subscription from day one.

Not every company wants to lock itself into large recurring software commitments before seeing value.
And not every team uses software in exactly the same way every month. So instead of focusing only on subscriptions, we wanted to build something more usage-aligned and practical for real businesses. But for us, this project does not stop at CRM, quotations, or invoicing. We are also building a connected ecosystem around business operations — designed to simplify the way SMEs manage work, documents, approvals, expenses, and internal processes. And once businesses start using the system, they will begin to understand the bigger vision behind it. This is only the beginning. We are continuously working on future platforms and connected modules, including:

• ProjectMate
• DocuMate
• ExpenseMate
• Payroll and workforce-related workflows
• Approval and document workflows
• And more connected operational tools for SMEs All designed with the same philosophy:Keep business systems practical, accessible, and scalable. At the end of the day, every business works differently. Some companies prefer fixed subscriptions.

Some businesses prefer flexibility and usage-based pricing. And that is completely okay. But after years of working closely with SMEs, I genuinely felt there was space in the market for a simpler and more practical alternative. That is exactly what we are trying to build with DocuProjects. If you are a growing business looking for a modern CRM and quotation-to-invoice workflow platform, I would genuinely encourage you to try DocuProjects for free first and experience whether this pricing model suits your business better.
